Getting Organized

Getting organized is not that difficult.

Some people in this world are naturally organized while other people are naturally unorganized. Often people who choose to work for themselves tend to be more creative and they also tend to be less organized. But you can get organized.

This is a problem.

To get organized you have to make sure you’re always working hard and working on the things that you need to do to be successful. If you’re unorganized then you will have time when this isn’t happening. You will find yourself doing things that aren’t helping you build your empire.

There are actually two ways that being unorganized hurts people.

The first way is that unorganized people often misplace important things. Then when they need the important thing they are forced to spend time looking for the thing that was misplaced. Obviously this stops the person from being able to make the best use of time and energy.

The second way being unorganized hurts people is that they spend time working hard on something only to find they did something twice or let something fall through the cracks. Obviously this harms their business.

It isn’t easy running your own business and it gets very stressful sometimes. But being unorganized makes everything ten times worse.

So, that brings up the question: How do people get organized?

Well, there have been entire books written on this topic. But here are a few tips:

    • Set detailed plans and goals. Then review them daily. That way you’re always making sure you’re on the right track and that nothing falls through the cracks.
    • Break-up your time and write it down. Each day write down exactly what you’ll do and when you’ll do it. Again, this will ensure everything gets done.
    • Invest in a planner. Keep all your goals and plans in your planner.
    • Clean your work space when your done working every single day. This will keep things nice and tidy and will allow you to work well all the time.
    • Label all your work and keep everything in folders and in a file cabinet. This will help you keep everything in it’s proper place. Also, keep your files on your computer nice and tidy and make sure you back-up everything.

These are 5 tips that will help you to get organized and point you  in the right direction and will lead to your overall success.
